Garden
Of Mountains and Sprouts
Sometimes the biggest mountain in our path to doing what God wants us to is...us. Put that hand to the plow and don't look back. When it comes time to defend that work, take up the Sword of the Spirit and the shield of faith as well as the rest of the armor and ask God for a bountiful harvest though you can't see the seedlings sprout yet.
Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Napoleon Rises from the Snow!
After we had a snowball fight, my son had a blast sculpting a two and a half foot-long sculpture of Napoleon's chest, head and hat. He also made a fortress entirely out of snow. He said it was kind of hard not to laugh at Napoleon's chest which was big and bulky. He worked on both of these for two hours. He wantd me to post about the adventure. He wishes all of you a great snow day!
Come on in to the Garden...
What do you do when creative dry spells and apathy set in? Do you push yourself to work anyway?
Or, like Frost, do you take the road less traveled and does that make all the difference?
Perhaps if it is your job, you have no choice but to plod on muse-less and hope she'll still show up in the end product. You might be highly disciplined about your creative art and have determined to get to work on it each day whether inspiration strikes. If it is a hobby or ministry...what happens? Does it get squeezed into a closet no one sees for a while? Does it become a jealous love, making its presence known to you whenever you pass by in the daily rush of activity? What tricks do you use to get those juices flowing once more?
