Is your joy a sputtering spark or a blazing beacon of hope at this time of year? Are you in need of fresh strength, victory, or a miracle?

Chanukah, also named The Feast of Dedication or The Feast of Lights begins tonight. It commemorates the valiant Maccabee revolt against the tyranny of those who viciously oppressed and sought to destroy their beliefs, violently slaughtered their people, and desecrated their most holy place of worship. Outnumbered by a landslide time and time again, they prevailed through determination and by the L-rd's mighty hand. When the smoke cleared, they stood amidst the rubble of His house, and discovered only enough consecrated oil to light the lamp for one night. It would take eight days to make a fresh supply. By faith, this battle-bruised group cried out to the G-d of their ancestors, and begged Him for a second miracle. The sacred oil lasted for eight days, and later in time, He would provide the Light of the World to guide mankind.

“You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.”

Psalm 18:28 NIV
